Diagnosis · 30 days
Same problem comes back within 30 days of your diagnostic visit? We'll come back and check it again at no diagnostic charge.
Labor · 90 days
Our workmanship on the repair is covered for 90 days. If our repair fails, we fix it again at no labor charge.
Parts · 1 year
Parts we supplied and installed are covered for 1 year. If one fails, we replace it.
How it works
- Warranty starts on the date of the visit or repair shown on your invoice.
- It covers the specific repair and parts listed on your invoice, not the whole appliance.
- Parts warranty covers the replacement part. Labor to install it is covered during the 90-day labor period; after that, standard labor rates apply.
- A new problem with a different part is not a warranty claim. It's a new repair, and we'll quote it first.
- Keep your invoice. You'll need it, or other proof of service, to make a claim.
- Warranty covers the original appliance at the original address. It can't be transferred.
To make a claim
- Call (212) 702-4073 or email service@neweratechappliance.com, Mon–Fri 9AM–5PM.
- Please contact us before anyone else works on the unit.
- We'll schedule a visit to inspect it. If the problem isn't covered, we'll tell you why before doing any paid work.
What the warranty doesn't cover
- Misuse, accidents, overloading, or not following the manufacturer's instructions.
- Damage from power surges, lightning, faulty wiring, outlets, plumbing, water supply or venting.
- Parts you supplied. We can install them, but we don't warranty the part itself.
- Cosmetic damage: scratches, dents, broken trim, glass or plastic finishes.
- Other parts that fail later, or problems that were already there and not part of our repair.
- Normal wear items such as filters, bulbs, belts and gaskets, unless we replaced them.
- Damage from moving the appliance, flooding, fire, pests or mold.
- Any unit that someone else has opened, repaired or modified after our visit. That voids the warranty.
Things we're not responsible for
- Food loss, spoiled medication, water damage to floors or cabinets, laundry or hotel costs, or lost time or income.
- Our total responsibility for a repair is limited to redoing the work or refunding what you paid for it. We choose which, based on the situation.
- Nothing on this page limits any rights you have under New York or New Jersey law.
Older appliances and parts
- Some older units have parts that are discontinued or hard to find. We'll tell you up front.
- Units 20 or more years old, or repairs with used or rebuilt parts, may get labor-only coverage. We'll tell you before any work starts and note it on your invoice.
- If a repair costs more than the unit is worth, we'll say so honestly.
- We'll offer you the old parts we replace.
Payment, visits and cancellations
- The diagnostic is $115. It's credited toward your repair when you approve it during the same visit.
- You'll get a written quote, and we start work only after you approve it.
- When you approve the work, we collect the diagnostic fee (or at least half) at the visit. The rest is due when the job is done. Warranty coverage applies to paid invoices.
- If a part has to be special-ordered, we ask for a 50% deposit on the part before we order it.
- Need to cancel or reschedule? Give us at least 24 hours' notice. There's no cancellation fee.
- After 3 no-shows, we may decline future service.
- Someone 18 or older needs to be home, and the appliance must be reachable.
We reserve the right to refuse service
- We may decline or stop a job if conditions aren't safe for you or our technician. That includes:
- Gas leaks, burning smells, exposed or faulty wiring, or other electrical or fire hazards.
- Active leaks or standing water around electrical parts.
- Mold, pest infestations, or unsanitary conditions at the appliance.
- Units we can't safely reach: blocked, built in without access, or needing to be moved without proper equipment.
- Threatening, abusive or hostile behavior toward our team.
- Appliances that have been tampered with, or repairs we believe would be unsafe or not worth doing.
- If we refuse or stop a job for safety reasons, the $115 diagnostic doesn't apply. A $50 trip fee does on customer-paid calls, not on manufacturer or warranty calls. Your appointment reminder says this too.
